WinDev, WebDev and WinDev Mobile: maintenance, evolution, migration
Thousands of French business applications run on WinDev and can no longer find developers. We maintain them, evolve them, and migrate them when you decide — at your pace, not ours.
- Model
- Fixed price or embedded
- Duration
- 2 to 12 weeks
- Expected outcomes
- A critical application that becomes maintainable and documented again
- Expected outcomes
- An exit from single-person dependency, without a forced rewrite
Who it is for
- Mid-market companies whose in-house ERP has run on WinDev for fifteen years
- IT departments whose WinDev developer is retiring
- Software vendors built on the PC SOFT stack
- Companies stuck on an old WinDev version
Who it is not for
- Full rewrite mandated in under three months
- Applications whose sources are permanently lost
- Assignments without access to a test environment
Deliverables
- Takeover audit: analyses, queries, reports, HFSQL or SQL Server dependencies
- Documented project takeover, with conventions and mapped technical debt
- Fixes and enhancements delivered in batches with an acceptance report
- Assisted WinDev version upgrade with regression testing
- REST API exposure over the existing app where integration is needed
- Priced progressive migration scenario, if and when you want it
- Operations documentation and handover to your teams
How it runs
01
Takeover audit
Two to four weeks depending on size. We open the project, map the analyses, procedures and reports, and list what breaks if touched.
02
Stabilisation
Fix blocking defects, set up a reproducible test environment, verify backup and restore. Secure before adding.
03
Evolution or version upgrade
Business enhancements restart in short batches. The WinDev version upgrade is treated as a project in its own right, with regression testing on reports and procedures.
04
Opening up or migration
When integration becomes necessary, we expose a REST API over the existing app rather than rewrite everything. Full migration, if you choose it, happens module by module with both systems running in parallel.

How the assignment is structured
Three ways to engage this service. The figure is set at the end of framing, once the scope is written: it is the only way to commit firmly without pricing in a risk you would end up paying for.

Frequently asked questions
Why do you still offer WinDev?
Because the French installed base is considerable and the supply of skills has collapsed. Many providers answer "rewrite everything" to a company with neither the budget nor the appetite for an eighteen-month project. Properly maintaining a WinDev application is a real need, badly served.
Will you push us towards a migration?
No. A WinDev application that meets the need, runs a supported version and is documented has no reason to be migrated. We price the migration scenario so you have the number, not to steer you into it. Many of our clients stay on maintenance for years.
Can you connect WinDev to our other applications?
Yes, and it is the most frequent request. We expose REST services over the existing app, or set up an integration layer at database level where WLanguage does not lend itself to it. That lets you plug in a modern web portal without touching the application core.
Other services
Twenty minutes is enough to know whether we are useful
No sales deck. You describe the need, we say whether it is in scope, at what price and on what timeline. If it is not for us, we say so during the call.
